what is a truss?

A prefabricated wooden product consisting of triangulated structural members that is designed to support the floor or roof.

Enhances structural integrity, allows for efficient assembly, and optimizes the overall strength of the building, ensuring longevity and reliability.

A structural member designed to distribute loads and forces to the ends of the member in such a way that allows for coverage over longer spans.

Trusses vs conventional (stick) framing

A Roof or floor truss system is an engineered structure
Trusses can achieve longer spans
Floor trusses are an open k-web design allowing for installation of mechanicals within the floor system
Assembled offsite, thus reducing build time in the field (On average, framing time reduction of 30-50%)
